Night roadworks SH1, Huntly 5pm to 5am Sunday 21 to Saturday 27 February

Fulton Hogan Waikato will be carrying out roadworks on SH1, Huntly in the north-bound lane as per the attached letter distributed to Huntly residents.

I am writing to advise you that south-bound traffic will require detouring through urban Huntly during the night-time works. We are recommending that HCVs take the alternative route of SH2/27 during these hours. Traffic control will be in place for north-bound traffic (delays can be expected).

We will be posting messages on the fixed Variable Message Sign (VMS) boards south-bound from Bombay through to Ohinewai advising of the upcoming roadworks from this evening. On Sunday at 5pm we will change the messages and put in place on the Bombay VMS warning there is a Huntly detour and recommending that HCVs take SH2/27 (between the hours of 5pm and 5am only).

As this detour will have an impact on HCVs, we wondered if it would be possible that you could distribute this information to your members?

We have advised the Heavy Haulage Association and the Road Transport Association has also been contacted.
