HPMV Access Temporarily Granted: SH12 & SH14 Northland
Due to the upcoming closure of State Highway (SH) 1 Brynderwyn, a detour has been established via SH12 and SH14 for all High Productivity Motor Vehicles (HPMV).
This detour is effective from 25 February 2024 until further notice.
HPMV’s are temporarily permitted to travel on SH12 between SH1 Brynderwyn and Dargaville, and SH14 between Dargaville and Whangārei.

We anticipate another 19 RCA’s will be completed within the two to three months. There are six RCA’s who are still in flood recovery who we wont be approaching for quite some time.
Reminder, if you have a current HPMV Higher Mass permit you may travel on all of the approved roads on the website maps.
