Pamela Bonney

Pamela joined the family business, L.W. Bonney & Sons in 2018 following a successful international career in corporate communications. Pamela worked for Hewlett Packard in New Zealand, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and the US, prior to moving on to global PR agency Hill in Knowlton in London, followed by Baldwin Boyle Group, Fonterra, and Suncorp in New Zealand.

At Bonney’s Pamela’s focus is on Customer Experience – delivering the right customer experience whilst optimising business operations. She finds being on the ground floor of New Zealand’s wider supply chain is a constant highlight, the people are real, and they understand what it takes to get the job done.

Pamela joined the Board in 2022 with a desire to help NRC communicate the vital role the sector plays for New Zealand. Supply chain is the most fundamental part of the economy, it touches everything, from imports to exports and everything in between. Understanding the sectors full impact paves the way to understanding the connection between freight and the wider economy, and in turn how it drives New Zealand’s infrastructure needs. It’s Pamela’s view that good infrastructure will improve productivity, decrease our environmental footprint, improve our ability to negotiate for investment and enable us to invest in the things that matter including our people and a low carbon future.

Pamela believes the industry must front foot the big problems to ensure its licence to operate is maintained and key initiatives such as HARMfree and TruckSafe pilot are strong examples of how NRC is helping the industry show leadership in these areas.

Pamela is a trustee for the Motu Foundation and a member of the Arc Angels Advisory Board.
